Now is the time to make your opinion count.
Three is a crowd in our traditional "vote-for-one" plurality voting system electing public officials. Plurality voting discourages new candidates, suppresses new ideas and dissenting opinion, and encourages campaigns built around negative attacks.
Except for elected offices our ballots ask a question, "Should something be done?" YES or NO.
The initiative extends this to public office, "Should this candidate hold this elected office?" YES or NO.
The beauty of this initiative is:
- Ballots are already prepared for YES NO voting
- Nothing is lost, but the voter has more options to express his opinion:
-- Plurality Voting, vote yes for one and none or NO vote for the remainder
-- Approval Voting, vote yes for the candidates approved of
-- None-Of-The-Above (NOTA), a no vote for all candidates
Then in the aggregate of all votes cast, Instant Runoff Voting (IRV) known as Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) the winner is the highest ranked candidate.
